Mining magnate spotted speaking with former U.S. President Donald Trump during lavish Great-Gatsby-themed event at his Florida resort
Mining magnate Gina Rinehart, Australia’s richest individual, was photographed at a lavish Halloween party hosted by former U.S. President
Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
The event, styled in a 1920s Great-Gatsby theme, also featured U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and was publicly highlighted through a social media post by Jeanine Pirro, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia.
In the image, Rinehart is seen speaking into Trump’s ear as he reads from a piece of paper.
She has long been a vocal supporter of Trump, underscoring her alignment with his “Make America Great Again”-style politics and advocating similar governance reforms for Australia, particularly after the Coalition’s election loss in May.
The party’s timing coincided with a U.S. federal government shutdown and ongoing debate over food-aid funding.
The photograph also suggests the growing reach of Rinehart’s international political and business networks.
Reports indicate Australian senator Pauline Hanson, leader of the One Nation party, was in the U.S. at the time and may have attended the event, though her office did not confirm her presence.
Rinehart’s attendance at such a high-profile gathering bolsters her standing on the global stage and underscores her engagement with U.S. political and business elites.
For Trump, the appearance of prominent international figures at his private resort reinforces the blending of political and personal networks as he remains active in U.S. public life.
Their interaction at the event signals both a personal alignment and overlapping interests — particularly in critical minerals, deregulation and conservative governance paradigms — that have been central to Rinehart’s push in Australia and globally.
