In response, Australian authorities are actively diversifying supply chains beyond their traditional reliance on Asian refineries.

While countries such as Singapore, South Korea and Malaysia remain key partners, officials have confirmed that shipments are now being sourced from North America, including the United States and Mexico, despite longer delivery times.

The government has taken a proactive role in securing fuel availability, backing major domestic suppliers to purchase additional cargoes on international markets and prioritizing deliveries to regional and agricultural areas where shortages have been most acute.

Strategic cooperation with Singapore, Australia’s primary refined fuel supplier, is also being reinforced through high-level engagement aimed at maintaining steady flows.
