TECO Melbourne Marks Strategic Partnership at Synnex Australia’s New Headquarters and Logistics Facility Opening

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office’s attendance underscores deepening technology and trade ties as Synnex expands its Australian logistics footprint
In a demonstration of strengthening commercial and bilateral engagement, representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Melbourne attended the official opening of Synnex Australia’s new AUD150 million headquarters and state-of-the-art logistics facility in Oakleigh South, Melbourne.

The milestone event on June 25 2025 highlighted the importance of international cooperation and technological innovation in the Asia-Pacific region, drawing industry executives, government and diplomatic delegates to witness a major expansion of Synnex’s national operations.

The 44,000 square-metre campus, designed to modernise and scale Synnex Australia’s distribution and supply chain capabilities, features a 35-metre-high automated warehouse with capacity for 22,000 pallets, an advanced automated storage and retrieval system and more than a kilometre of conveyor infrastructure that enables rapid, precise handling across multiple levels.

The facility also includes a three-storey office building and robust safety infrastructure designed to support long-term national logistics needs.

Planning and construction began in 2020, and a meticulously coordinated relocation of stock and equipment was completed with minimal business disruption, setting a new benchmark for efficiency in logistics operations.

The expansion solidifies Synnex’s presence in Australia and supports its cooperation with a network of more than 7,000 resellers and major national retailers.

The presence of TECO Melbourne at the launch reflects Taiwan’s broader efforts to support Taiwanese and allied technology enterprises abroad and to foster deeper economic ties between Taiwan, Australia and regional partners.

The office, which serves as a de facto diplomatic mission representing Taiwan’s interests, participates in economic and cultural engagement across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania.

Joint participation in events such as the Synnex opening illustrates the growing interconnection of supply chains and the mutual benefits of innovation, investment and workforce development.

Synnex ANZ’s Chief Executive Officer articulated the company’s commitment to Australia’s technology landscape, underscoring the facility’s role in enhancing agility and service delivery across the region.

The launch reaffirmed Australia’s position as a critical hub in Asia-Pacific distribution networks and highlighted the value of global-local collaboration.

As Synnex Australia and its partners embrace the future of automated logistics, diplomatic and commercial engagements such as TECO’s involvement signal sustained momentum for trade, technology and shared prosperity in the region.
