Kate Whiteman, the Australian woman who first accused real estate figures Oren and Alon Alexander of sexual assault, was found dead in New South Wales late in 2025, New South Wales authorities have confirmed as they investigate the circumstances of her death.

Whiteman, 45, brought a civil lawsuit in New York in March 2024 alleging that the Alexander twins assaulted her in 2012 at a party mansion in the Hamptons, a case that precipitated numerous additional allegations from other women and helped spur both civil and criminal proceedings against the brothers and their older sibling, Tal Alexander.

The death has not yet been determined to be suspicious, and the New South Wales coroner is probing the cause.

Whiteman’s suit triggered a cascade of complaints that led to federal indictments in the Southern District of New York in December 2024, charging the three Alexander brothers with conspiracy, sex trafficking and other offences tied to allegations that they used their wealth and social position to lure and assault women over many years.

The trio have denied all charges and remain in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn pending trial, which is scheduled to begin in January 2026.

Whiteman’s legal action and the subsequent wave of accusations drew intense media and public attention, prompting debate about the role of powerful social networks and elite circles in enabling alleged misconduct.

In filings, the Alexander brothers’ defence sought to challenge Whiteman’s account, while her lawyers maintained that evidence corroborated her claims and those of other accusers.

It remains unclear whether Whiteman would have been called to testify at the upcoming trial due to her passing, and investigators are yet to disclose further details about the cause of her death.

The ongoing coroner’s probe is expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding her death as the high-profile case continues through the U.S. justice system.
