A powerful tropical cyclone sweeping across Western Australia has produced an extraordinary and unsettling scene, with entire skies turning a deep blood red as the storm intensified over the region.

The phenomenon occurred as Cyclone Narelle lashed coastal communities including Exmouth and Shark Bay, where residents reported an apocalyptic glow filling the sky amid fierce winds and widespread disruption.

Authorities confirmed that the storm brought destructive gusts exceeding one hundred seventy kilometres per hour, damaging buildings, cutting power and communications, and forcing critical infrastructure offline.

Despite the intensity of the cyclone, emergency services indicated there were no immediate reports of serious injuries.
