Play at the 2026 Australian Open resumes on Tuesday, 20 January with a full slate of first-round matches across multiple courts at Melbourne Park as the first Grand Slam tournament of the tennis season unfolds.

After the main draw began on Sunday with opening round action, Tuesday will see both men’s and women’s singles competitors continue their opening matches, alongside scheduled doubles events.

The day follows the tournament’s official schedule which places day sessions starting late morning local time and night sessions in the evening on show courts.

(The Australian Open is being held across two weeks from 18 January to 1 February with qualifying played earlier and a prize pool of more than one hundred eleven million Australian dollars.)

Prominent fixtures expected on Rod Laver Arena include women’s ninth seed Madison Keys facing Oleksandra Oliynykova, and key men’s singles action such as world top players Ben Shelton against Ugo Humbert, Hugo Gaston versus Jannik Sinner, and Naomi Osaka taking on Antonia Ružić, all part of the continued first-round schedule.

Matches on Margaret Court Arena and other show courts will feature Lorenzo Musetti, Elena Rybakina and other leading contenders.

Secondary courts will host a wide array of early round contests as the draw progresses toward the second round later in the week.

The order of play for each court is set by officials and may be adjusted for weather, court conditions or ongoing match durations to ensure competitive fairness and player recovery as the event continues into its opening week.
