NVIDIA Anchors Blackwell Ultra GPUs at Sovereign AI Factories in India and Australia

The tech group’s next-generation AI hardware and partnerships accelerate sovereign AI infrastructure build-outs across both nations
NVIDIA has emerged as a central technological partner in the development of sovereign artificial intelligence infrastructure in India and Australia, as the company’s advanced Blackwell Ultra graphics processing units (GPUs) are being deployed at scale in both regions to support national compute capabilities and AI data sovereignty.

In India, a suite of major infrastructure partnerships announced at the AI Impact Summit in New Delhi have positioned NVIDIA at the heart of that country’s sovereign AI strategy.

Yotta Data Services plans to deploy more than 20,000 liquid-cooled NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs across its hyperscale data-centre campuses, creating one of Asia’s largest AI superclusters designed to support frontier-scale model training and inference workloads under the IndiaAI Mission.

The $2 billion supercluster, expected to be operational by August 2026, will also host one of the Asia-Pacific region’s biggest NVIDIA DGX Cloud clusters as part of a multi-year commercial engagement, reinforcing India’s capacity to build and train advanced AI models domestically rather than relying on offshore compute.

Complementing the Yotta deployment, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has entered a joint venture with NVIDIA to build sovereign gigawatt-scale AI factory infrastructure, with initial capacity in Chennai and new facilities in Mumbai, aimed at serving enterprises and regulated workloads anchored within India’s digital economy.

Domestic cloud and networking provider E2E Networks is also deploying NVIDIA-powered Blackwell clusters at L&T’s Vyoma Data Centre in Chennai.

Beyond these high-scale hubs, other Indian firms such as NxtGen AI are establishing sovereign AI factories with thousands of NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and high-density supporting infrastructure, further strengthening the country’s compute foundation for enterprise and public workloads.

In Australia, the deployment of sovereign AI infrastructure has begun with projects such as the first Cisco Secure AI Factory, which is fully powered by NVIDIA GPUs to serve local enterprise and governmental applications, demonstrating the country’s commitment to building secure, sovereign AI ecosystems on home soil.

These installations not only expand Australia’s domestic AI compute capacity but also signal Canberra’s intent to support sovereign data and workload execution within national borders.

Across both countries, NVIDIA’s Blackwell Ultra GPUs and associated software platforms are being integrated with local cloud services, enterprise software stacks and AI-model development frameworks to enable secure, high-performance AI services.

Industry observers view these developments as part of a broader international trend in which key democracies seek to establish sovereign AI infrastructure that can support critical sectors, protect sensitive data, and promote local innovation without undue reliance on external cloud hyperscalers.

NVIDIA’s role as a supplier of premier AI hardware and software throughout these projects underscores its strategic position in the global AI supply chain while aligning with national ambitions for data sovereignty and industrial digital transformation.
