Trump Organization Secures Landmark Deal for First Australian Skyscraper on Gold Coast

Agreement finalized to develop a 91-storey luxury hotel and residence tower, marking the Trump brand’s inaugural real estate venture in Australia
Australia’s Gold Coast is poised for a dramatic addition to its skyline after the Trump Organization and Queensland developer Altus Property Group finalised a binding agreement to build a 91-storey luxury skyscraper at Surfers Paradise.

The Trump International Hotel & Tower Gold Coast will rise on the former Spirit tower site at 3 Trickett Street, and at an estimated 335-metres tall will surpass all existing Australian buildings to become the nation’s tallest structure.

The project, valued at approximately A$1.5 billion, will host a Trump-branded hotel of 285 rooms, 272 high-end residential apartments, an exclusive beach club and expansive commercial, retail and dining spaces across more than 3,400 square metres.

Iconic amenities including concierge service, valet, luxury hospitality and resort-style facilities are slated to enhance the precinct’s appeal.

Eric Trump, executive vice-president of the Trump Organization, said the development represents the brand’s first official project in Australia and reflects an unwavering commitment to delivering world-class luxury experiences in prominent international destinations.

The agreement was signed at Mar-a-Lago by Mr Trump and Altus CEO David Young, whose nearly two-decade pursuit of a Trump project on the Gold Coast began with initial outreach to the Trump family in the early 2000s.

Local officials have welcomed the development as a significant investment for the city, with planning subject to formal submissions to the Gold Coast Council and ongoing engagement with stakeholders.

The tower will occupy a landmark beachfront position in Surfers Paradise, and its construction is expected to begin pending final approvals, bringing an internationally recognised luxury brand to one of Australia’s most dynamic coastal markets.
